Privacy at SettleWise

The free review stays in your browser

The file you choose for the free review is opened and read inside your own browser. We don't send it, we don't send its name or its contents, and no copy of ours remains when you close the screen.

If you decide to continue with a case file, pressing Save sends only the fields you confirmed and where each one came from. The file's bytes, its name and the fields you left out are not sent.

What we store

Your email address, to identify your account and give you access. Your I-765 questionnaire answers and the documents you upload to your case file. The change history of your own case file and the results of the reviews.

Your email address is stored protected by the database's access rules: whoever sends you a message needs to be able to read the address. Single-use links are stored as a fingerprint, and the material used to build a reminder is stored encrypted.

Uploading documents to your case file is optional: the product works without them and you decide which files to keep there.

If you buy the preparation, we store the purchase record (transaction identifiers, amount, currency and status). We don't store or see your card number: the payment gateway processes it.

Who can see it

Your case file and your documents are private to your account: the database applies per-person access rules, and private screens and functions respond without being stored in shared caches.

The SettleWise team only opens a case file if you ask us to, to solve a problem.

What we DON'T do

We don't sell your data. We don't send your email address, your answers or your payment references to measurement or advertising tools. Private pages are not indexed by search engines.

The free scanner check runs in your own browser and does not create a case file until you confirm it.

Providers

We use a database and authentication provider to store your account and your case file, and a payment gateway to process a purchase. Each one handles only the data needed for its function.

Email reminders

If you request a reminder before your renewal, we store the address it should go to, the reminder date and your consent. You can view it, pause it, change the address or cancel it from the management link. The email reminder before your renewal is not accepting sign-ups yet: today we don't ask for your address for that purpose and no reminder emails are sent.

Measurement

The measurement we use is limited and does not receive your email address, your answers, your documents or your payment references, not even inside a web address.

Analytics is optional and stays off until you accept it. If you accept it, we use Google Analytics on the site's public pages, with the page address, a fixed title and the visit's origin already sanitized. The Google Analytics tag does not load without permission.

Inside the product we measure only five steps of the journey (starting, reaching the review, starting payment, confirmed purchase and preparation activated). Those signals carry a generic address and no content: never the real page, your case file, your category, your answers or your documents. The purchase is sent with an encrypted reference that cannot lead back to you, the amount and the currency.

If you arrive from an ad or a campaign, we store in your browser only that campaign's labels for 90 days, to know which campaign works. They contain no personal data and are not sent to any advertising platform.

Your choice is stored only in this browser (purpose, notice version and date) for 180 days. After that period we ask again. You can change or withdraw it at any time from Privacy preferences: when you withdraw it we stop measuring immediately and delete this site's analytics cookies, without touching your session or your case file.

Today no advertising or remarketing is connected: those purposes are denied and, if they were ever added, a new decision from you would be required.

Access, correction and deletion

Write to info@settlewiseusa.com from your account's email address: we can give you what we have about you, correct an item or delete your case file and your documents. A person from the team handles it; we don't publish a time frame that we can't guarantee yet, and there is no automatic deletion for inactivity. The accounting records of a purchase are kept due to legal obligation.
